The question before the channel
It is easy to start a marketing conversation with platforms: Instagram, Google, outdoor, email. Start one step earlier. Who are you trying to help, what matters to them, and why should they choose you? A clear answer makes every channel decision more useful.
Build a message you can actually use
Write one sentence that names the audience, the problem, and the value your business brings. Avoid stacking adjectives. “Premium, innovative, world-class solutions” tells a customer much less than a specific explanation of what you do for them.
Put proof next to the promise
Use the evidence you genuinely have: a product demonstration, a clear process, an accurate case study, or a real customer experience shared with permission. If the business is new, explain how the service works and what a customer can expect. Specificity builds trust.
Give each touchpoint one job
A social post may introduce an idea. A landing page may explain an offer. A contact page should make an enquiry easy. Keep the brand story consistent, but adapt the amount of information to the moment.
A useful exercise
Ask three people outside your business to read your homepage for ten seconds. Then ask what you do, who it is for, and what they would do next. If the answers vary wildly, revisit the message before increasing your media spend.
A useful conversation starts with a good question.
